Home Modifications

There are a variety of modifications that can make the home more accessible to a person with disability.

Single level homes may require a ramp system to accommodate a wheelchair or power chair.  Modifications to the bathroom, bedroom, or kitchen may also be necessary.

Multi-level homes may require mobility equipment that allows a person with a disability to move between floor levels.

Stair Lifts

Stair lifts are a great solution for people with mobility challenges.  A stairlift is a device that allows you to get up and down stairs safely and easily, allowing you to continue to live comfortably in your own home.If you or a loved one suffers from a disability that affects mobility, a stairlift can improve your quality of life.

Having one installed in your home makes it easier to move around, get to different parts of your home, and transport things between floors. This can be particularly helpful for anyone who have trouble walking or climbing stairs.

Vertical Platform Lifts

Sometimes referred to as a “porch lift”, vertical platform lifts feature a platform, which is typically enclosed within walls on all four sides. The platform rests upon an elevator-style base that is controlled either manually or through the use of remote control devices.  .Vertical platform lifts are made for both residential and commercial multi-level buildings.  Both indoor and outdoor applications are available.  These lifts are ideal for individuals who are wheelchair dependent and do not have the ability to easily transfer into and out of a wheelchair.

Ramps

Ramps can be installed on a permanent or temporary basis. Ramps are typically installed at a primary entrance/exit.

Multi-Lifts

Multi-lifts are personal hoist lifts that are easily assembled and disassembled.  They are movable to where needed to assist an individual in getting into and out of the bath tub, the bed, the couch or chair, and/or a vehicle.

Pool Lifts

Pool lifts assist a person with a disability in transferring into and out of a swimming pool.
